"As you do all this, you know what time it is. The hour has already come for you to wake up from your sleep. Now our salvation is nearer than when we first had faith. The night is almost over, and the day is near. So let's get rid of the actions that belong to the darkness and put on the weapons of light. Let's behave appropriately as people who live in the day, not in partying and getting drunk, not in sleeping around and obscene behavior, not in fighting and obsession." Romans 13:11-13
God never wastes time. Even though He lives and moves in and out of time, He still considers every second important. Why? Because He is concerned for you and me. The scripture above reminds us of that very fact.
The world is in flux at this very moment. It is time to consider the future. We plan for retirement all our lives. We worry about what we will leave our children, and if we will have enough to take care of ourselves in our later years. But what about eternity? We are eternal beings by design. It is what The Lord had in mind for us from the beginning in the Garden of Eden.
The Holy Spirit is telling us that we are running out of time. So what should we do?
1) WE SHOULD REJOICE!
Our salvation is nearer than when we first came to Christ. Jesus is coming to heal and renew the earth and set up His kingdom in Jerusalem. The dark days will be over. He will give us new bodies as He displayed after his resurrection. "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Philippians 3:21 That is something beyond our imaginations to comprehend.
2) WE SHOULD EXAMINE OUR LIVES
I do every day of my life. I have to; without it, I would drift away and eventually develop my own belief system far from the heart of God. "Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like." James 1:23-24
"Let us redeem the time and live in expectation of the coming of The Lord. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure." I John 3:3
God is on our side. Let us keep our eyes on Him and Him alone.
God bless!

Thank you Russ. I am just starting on your last book.
You are an inspiration. Who would have thought we would be seeing all these changes, in our lifetime, although I feel we have been in a slow kinda way all along. Important to share Gods word and love and wear the armor of God.
