What is God saying?

I pray you are all doing well and staying safe. Many people are wondering if this pandemic is a sign of the times - the end times, to be exact. It would be easy to say yes, considering that for the first time in history the whole world has come to a stop. Even during World War 1 & 2, there were parts of the world that were not directly affected.

You would have to admit it is an unprecedented situation that we find ourselves in. The Bible does talk about a time when people's hearts will fail them for fear, but although this pandemic has taken lives and sent a shock wave of dread over the entire world, we are nowhere near the cataclysmic events of the book of Revelation.

So what is God saying to you and me?

It is always risky to suppose we can interpret what God is saying in any given situation, outside of the Word of God, but it is safe to say that the present situation is forcing us to rethink our lives. It is never God's will for people to suffer and lose their lives, but we must remember that we are living in a fallen world - a world where people lie, cheat, and go to war driven by greed and an unending thirst for power.

There is no doubt that we are living in the last days - Peter declared it 2,000 years ago.  When we think of the previous, we usually think about the plagues and the horrible disasters that will befall the earth. However, there is a silver lining.

Lets' take a look at Acts 2:17-21.

"And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,

and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,

and your young men shall see visions,

and your old men shall dream dreams;

even on my male servants and female servants

in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

And I will show wonders in the heavens above

and signs on the earth below,

blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;

the sun shall be turned to darkness

and the moon to blood,

before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Yes, times are coming on the Earth - the likes this world has never seen, but there is also a promise of an outpouring of God's Spirit. We are living in an exciting time. I sense there is a great awakening just around the corner. Will everything be sunshine and roses? No, but amid all the chaos, God is going to do some incredible things.

I"ll leave you with this:

Habakkuk 1:5"Look at the nations and watch- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that youwouldnotbelieve, even if you were told."

Stay tuned for part two of "What is God saying."

Til next time. Keep looking up. The King is coming.
