“Fear not! For I have overcome the world.”

Updated: Apr 18, 2020

Greetings,

As we continue to endure our stay at home quarantine, I pray that you are all well. Where is God in all of this? As we know, our God is in all things: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Yet through it all, His love never fails. We live in a fallen world, but we must remember the words of Jesus “Fear not! For I have overcome the world.”

I love this scripture!

"Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord." Psalm 27:14

We should look for and expect the Lord to move in all things. Even in this pandemic, God is working through us and for us. Remind yourself every day that God is good and in all things. That can be a hard truth to defend, especially when we see such heartache all around us, but it is true nonetheless. God is good, and He is in all things.

I often think of the words of Charles Spurgeon,“The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself.” The key to having peace is trusting in the one who holds everything in His hand. Keep looking up; God is good.

In His Service,

Russ Scalzo
